Additionally, Joomla can become a portal, a great option for businesses looking to create a community. With all of the forums, news, and other similar features Joomla can easily help a site owner create whatever type of community they want. Unlike WordPress, all these features are already included in the software out of the box.
Finally, Joomla has a great navigational component to the site. Since the platform helps larger sites, the developers have spent more time on creating an easy navigation system compared to WordPress since the majority of WordPress users run small sites without the need for complex navigation.

Joomla does have a steeper learning curve than WordPress. A large part of the reason for this is that Joomla is a more robust platform. Naturally, with all the features included it takes longer to learn how to use the site.
Additionally, Joomla occasionally loads slower than WordPress, which can affect a site’s Google ranking.
WordPress Cons
Since 14% of the now runs on WordPress websites, more hackers are focusing on breaking into WordPress compared to other platforms.
WordPress is more reliant on third party developers. I personally know a ton of good WordPress developers. They are great! They update their plugins with every core update, constantly tweak the software for enhanced performance, and create clean code from the start. Then you have the developers who just want to do a quick job, and do not look at the long-term effects their work has.
It can also be hard to identify which plugin is causing havoc in your WordPress install, forcing you to pull out all of your plugins just to find out that your new plugin (or an old one that has not been updated for a while) is the culprit.
