1. Evernote
I am sure you have heard about this app already. It is a paid app that lets you work smart. Evernote is one of the best apps for professionals because it allows you to organize and manage your projects for quick and easy access.
Through Evernote, you can create notes while synchronizing all your gadgets. The Premium plan has a monthly upload limit of 10GB.
2. FadeIn
If you are into screenplay editing, FadeIn will offer you professional help. It is compatible with iOs and Android devices. There are so many features in this app that will help you to format and edit your screenplays with a range of script styles.
You can also save your work in your Dropbox account or synchronize with your PC or Smartphone as well.

I have seen many novel writers who wish to capture their ideas and edit their work immediately. yWriter is a fantastic app for novel writers who feel too busy to use any app. With yWriter, you just have to copy and paste content and the app will automatically segment the book into chapters. Amazing isn’t it?

Writer is a simple and effective app for Microsoft Word fans. It is not just for creating word documents. You can also collaborate with your friends and peers through discussions while sharing your words with each other. Also, Writer has an automatic backup feature for your files. Go for it.
5. iA Writer
iA Writer is one of the simplest apps and the most fun to use. Maybe that is why it a popular writing app for Android and iOS devices. You can write and edit your poems, novels, business proposals, essays, and texts quite easily. Sharing and backup features are also available through Dropbox and Google Drive.
6. Libre Office
I had to shortlist LibreOffice in this list of the best writing apps. It is a free, open source set of applications akin to Microsoft Office which makes it quite easy and efficient. It also allows you to upgrade the app version depending on your device’s operating system.
7. Microsoft Word
Everyone who uses Word should know there is also an app. While PC users are accustomed to the leading Microsoft Word software, it’s app is a brilliant alternative that enables writers to do their writing work right from their smart devices. With the Microsoft Word app, you can edit, view, and share files in PDF and .doc formats.
8. Trello App
Many writers complain of under-productivity because of poor management and organization. Trello is the right app for management to better organize and manage your tasks. It is a visual way to customize strategies and workflows so you do not miss anything.
9. WordBook
This is not just an app for writing and editing. It also helps you improve your punctuation and vocabulary while you write. It has an integrated thesaurus and dictionary that can be searched to find desired words along with their meanings.
WordBook is an excellent way to improve your content writing. For a low price you can get over 120,000 voice pronunciations, spell check recommendations, and over 30,000 etymologies.
10. aTimeLogger
The tenth in my list of the top ten fantastic apps for writers is the aTimeLogger app. It is similar to Trello, and allows you to schedule your time and writing tasks efficiently. Professionals and writers are quite busy and it’s hard for them to keep track of their time.
Through this app they can track their weekly or monthly tasks and engagements in a simple graph or diagram style.

The Hemingway App is popular among writers who want to improve their skills. Available for desktop and mobile devices, it highlights errors and makes suggestions to strengthen your writing.

Three of them I am already using. Thanks for sharing this information with us.
I tried Evernote but it was quite difficult for me.
Hi Mike,
Try gnote or Tomboy notes. (They’re almost exactly the same.) I use them all the time and find them easy to use. But be aware that they auto-save and if you accidentally write over or delete something it is gone.
I wrote about using Tomboy Notes in https://growmap.com/tomboy-notes/

I tried Evernote but frankly, I’am kind of stuck to my organizer made of paper. So I assume, I need to get used to it to find the advantages of Evernote.
Hi Max,
Thanks for your input and sharing your experience. Yes, Evernote needs a bit of time to get used to it, and once you get the hold of the app, you will definitely going to benefit from it.
Be sure to check AirStory and ProWritingAid. Both are online tools that can help improve organise their documents for drafting and one tool is a great alternative to whitesmoke, ginger, or grammarly.
