Refining Your Telemarketing Sales Leads

If you buy telemarketing sales leads, it’s smart to filter and refine them. Many mailing list brokers will work with you to fine-tune your list, allowing you to get the best possible value for your marketing dollars.

Why bother? With a narrowly targeted list of leads, you can ensure that your outbound calls reach leads who meet your specific qualifications.

For example, if you need a list of telemarketing sales leads to market homeowners insurance to, wouldn’t it make sense to remove renters from your list?  In addition, you could also remove condo owners or assign a minimum property value.

In addition to refining your telemarketing sales leads based on specific criteria, most reputable mailing list brokers perform their own list refinements to ensure that the leads they sell you are:

  • Not on the National Do Not Call Registry
  • Verified

Obviously, you don’t want to violate Do Not Call laws, so making sure your list of telemarketing sales leads has been cleaned, or “scrubbed,” of registered numbers is crucial to your telemarketing business.

Verified leads are leads that have had their contact information verified. Automated software at the point of lead generation is often used to cross-reference various databases to ensure that the contact information submitted is correct.

For example, it’s not uncommon for people to enter bogus phone numbers when filling out online forms. As a buyer of telemarketing sales leads, you certainly shouldn’t have to pay for a list filled with fake phone numbers.

Refining and filtering your telemarketing sales leads ensures that your agents call legitimate sales leads that meet your criteria and are not on the National Do Not Call Registry. This reduces the number of calls to leads that don’t make sense for your business, and it improves your closing ratio dramatically.

Calling people who don’t need your product in the first place
is a waste of time, effort, and money for your business.

Once your telemarketing lists have been refined to your liking, it’s important that you have a strategy in place to get the most out of these lists. Getting proper training is important if you want your business to succeed.

      Hi Shanon,

      We are having serious issues with attacks from hackers and spammers. If the page won’t load, retry or come back later. We’re trying to find a way to stop them from hitting the server so hard it takes the site down.

    I think it is awesome that telemarketer’s leads are available for purchase, but as with any marketing strategy, it is important to utilize some discretion to make sure that you are not breaking any laws. I also think discretion can help narrow your work down to the clients and potential customers who will be the most important to advertise to for your company.

    It is a pain refining a list of telemarketing sales leads and I especially find it cumbersome trying to root out all those number that are on the Do Not Call list. Some of your suggestions would really come in handy the next time I purchase a list, so thanks a lot.

    Great information. Nothing is more wasteful to my time and the caller’s time than when I get calls on my business phone for services or products that have nothing to do with my business. I practice law, I do not have a serious need to buy bulk screws. I don’t know why I got that call in the first place nor do I know why it took ten minutes to get the caller to understand that.

    As competitive of a market as it is for sales leads, I would only assume that legitimate lead companies would help you filter out and consolidate the leads to match your target audience. It only makes sense to them because the better the leads are, the more you will keep buying from them.
