      Hi Joy,

I wish I could tell you. I no longer travel or speak at conferences and it appears those who attended are recovering. I haven’t come across any posts about it or heard from any of them just yet.

We’d certainly like to see an Affiliates Program at the schools.

So far, we have an Office of Affiliate Marketing, but the Director of that Office is working herself to death elsewhere, and therefore cannot establish what I am sure would be a dynamite program.

Too many people asking for her advice. Leaves no time for her to make money herself.

      Hi Jill,

I have been very busy and also under the weather. We are getting close (I hope) to a resolution for the spam problem that is eating up a lot of time. Be patient and you will see posts and activities soon.

      Welcome Ripsy,

There is still time to attend. If you like this particular speaker line-up you’ll want to go now because each event has a different mix of speakers. Some of these are in extremely high demand and will not be speaking at all future events.

Will they really be talking about email marketing? Seems a little outdated. Still, a conference worth going to if you are in the area.

      Hi Jen,

While email marketing has been rumored to be dead believe me when I tell you that never happened. While people may subscribe via RSS many of them never actually read what they have subscribed to there. Some use aggregators – usually serious bloggers and some use assorted Social Media.

The ONE thing nearly EVERYONE at least sees is their email IF you understand how to get your emails past the spam filters so they at least get delivered.

Knowing what kind of titles to use to get them open and what to write in them to generate action are complex skills. Those who learn them well have great success – those who pay no attention to details fail to reap the benefits.

There is a saying in marketing: The Money is In Your List

That is 100% true – and it is much faster to use Social Media to grow your list. That is why they need to be integrated. The one thing the most successful businesses and bloggers have in common is a targeted mailing list.

I wrote more about that in a guest post I wrote for Adotas on Integrating Email + Social Media.

That post explains why buying advertising and using Social Media without a method for building a mailing list in place is a HUGE mistake and a waste of your money. The worse the economy is the more important that becomes.

      Hi JR,

I don’t travel to live events myself any more but I don’t know that I’ve seen a more prominent speaker list or a subject so important to every business. Using Social Media to build and properly interact with a mailing list is the number one thing I most need to do better myself.

      Hello Affiliate Marketing,

I approved your comment so I could share with you that comments like that are almost 100% guaranteed to get deleted. Even I usually delete comments that are nothing more than a link.

You are welcome to interact with us and let us know about your forum but that is not a good way to do it. Two links to the same page are unnecessary and saying nothing isn’t going to interest anyone in seeing what is there.

One of the major reasons it takes most people so long to finally make money in affiliate marketing or blogging is the huge number of people who create sites on those subjects who do not yet have sufficient experience to offer quality advice. Bad advice is worse than no advice.

I recommend the experts I wrote about in the post I’ll feature in CommentLuv in this reply. They are well worth reading and have much that actually works to share.
