Highly recommended; I use it regularly.

Pros: Easy to understand, Helpful examples, Well-written, Accurate, Concise

Best Uses: Intermediate, Student, Expert, Novice

Describe Yourself: Social Media Marketer, Business Strategist

Buy this book as a great overview of the major social networks and how to monitor your brand; keep it close as a reference resource.

This book is one of a handful that I keep right next to my computer and use frequently. I review it before visiting Social Media Networks I don’t regularly use to ensure I remember how to maximize my effectiveness and avoid mistakes.

I also use it to answer questions in my blog and on forums and Social Network communities and recommend it regularly. If you could only read one book about how Social Networking can benefit you and your business this is the one I would buy.

Just like Werner Erhart of EST said:
The book is “What is”. Not what it could have been or should have been – nevertheless it is a great overview and a way to avoid major mistakes on each Social Media Network.

      Hi Dennis,

The book is what it is – a great overview and a way to avoid major mistakes on each Social Media Network. Obviously it can’t cover everything so serious users of any specific platform will need additional information.

I have the book right here and refer to it all the time. I can not think of anything in it that I found incorrect or misleading. There are a few points I personally feel differently about but that Tamar and I don’t agree on everything is hardly a reason to find a CON where I don’t see one.

This is the first review I’ve ever written on that site so I don’t recall what the options were and I didn’t know how it would display at the time I wrote it. I didn’t even know there was an easy way to send the review to my blog until after I wrote it.

I’ll be writing more about this book in the future. Just can’t do it right now because of client emergencies.

Social media websites are very useful for SEO too if they have dofollow on links. With enough weight on the anchor text, a website can grow in SERPs easily.

That’s a great book. When I looked at the table of contents, I was surprised at home many different kinds of social networking sites there were. Most people think that the only major players our there are twitter, facebook, and myspace. The book really shows how to do well in many others you wouldn’t think of.
