Top Benefits of Blue Jeans Mobile Video Conferencing

What do Facebook, Foursquare, Match.com, and Stanford University all have in common? They all partner with Blue Jeans Mobile Video Conferencing. Why?

Dr. Albert Mehrabian, author of Silent Messages, conducted several studies on nonverbal communication. He found that 7% of any message is conveyed through words, 38% through certain vocal elements, and 55% through nonverbal elements (facial expressions, gestures, posture, etc).

Many people feel uncomfortable when they can’t see each other during meetings. As budgets are reduced for travel and teams are distributed across the country or around the world, it just makes sense to implement mobile video conferencing.

1) You don’t have to be computer-savvy

Many people still worry about not being able to type fast enough or having to figure out which cable is compatible with their computing system. Don’t feel bad if you aren’t technically savvy. With mobile video conferencing, you don’t have to touch a desktop or laptop at all. Just pull out your favorite mobile device and click the invite link to access the conference. It simply can’t get any easier.

2) Excellent for the hearing impaired

Individuals who are deaf or have a hearing impairment will definitely find using mobile video conferences beneficial. They can look at the person they’re speaking with, reading their lips or exchanging sign language as needed.

3) Medical teams can collaborate and see patients remotely

Healthcare personnel can discuss cases or see patients remotely using mobile video conferencing. Doctors, nurses, and specialists will be able to assist more patients faster – especially in emergencies – when they can go online instead of face-to-face. With this technological advancement, conversations that revolve around diagnoses, check-ups, and prescriptions are possible.

4) Mobile video conferencing eliminates travel costs

If you’ve memorized the ambiance of more than ten airports and have gotten used to showering with hotel soap, then you’ve probably traveled a great deal for your company’s affairs. Mobile video conferencing can help you get familiar with sleeping in your own bedroom again, as you’ll no longer need to board planes to discuss business with colleagues in other offices. Everything can be done on your tablet or smartphone.

5) Non-verbal cues can be tracked and assessed

Some words or ideas don’t make much sense or fail to fully get the point across without gestures or body language to accompany them. As with room-based video conferencing, mobile video conferencing enables participants to see every move the others make. One look of disinterest or a growing smile can go a long way, especially in a corporate environment where it’s typically the norm to maintain a formal, objective countenance that’s sometimes very hard to read.

Additional Facts

According to InfoComm International, a recent study indicated that 36% of users confirmed their company already incorporated videoconferencing capabilities, while 16% have engaged in activities that call for mobile videoconferencing.

Contrary to popular belief, mobile video conferencing is expected to boost an interest in room-based video conference calls rather lower its relevancy. It doesn’t serve as a threat, because experts conclude that it will increase usage of all forms of video conferencing solutions, with mobile usage simply being one of the alternatives in the larger scheme of things.

eWeek indicates that as mobile video conferencing continues to invade the mainstream scene, the majority of Smartphone users will soon have the ability to choose a video option on their phone, but the user on the other end of the line must accept the video link request that’s sent to them.

As Blue Jeans Mobile Video Conferencing continues to reach new heights in several industries, it’s clear that you’ll want to remain in the loop on what direction it takes next. Staying educated on the latest technological developments, particularly those that are so closely related to internal communications, could mean the difference between a mediocre life in the corporate sphere and a solid career with infinite opportunities.

Video conferencing, as described by Processor.com, is rapidly becoming a video-collaboration revolution, especially in the business world. Incorporating more mobile video conferencing capabilities just adds icing to the cake, because it’s all-inclusive and supports users who may not have access to a computer, but have their tablet on hand. So, if you happen to step outside of the office to grab a bite to eat before an important meeting, but end up getting stuck in a long line at your favorite restaurant, you’re in luck as long as you brought along your Smartphone.

Mobile video conferencing could soon be the way of the world. Take a look at the key advantage of this innovation and why it’s highly sought after in the corporate world, as well as situations that aren’t work-related.

Great video! It’s funny mostly because it’s true. You can make or break a business relationship with a video conference. There’s a lot to be said for investing in a good video engine that allows you to get things done effectively and quickly. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Geet. Many only write for experts while others write what I call “corporate-eze” (lots of words that don’t mean much). I believe it is important to write common sense, implementable advice.

I agree that video calling is more effective then simple phone calls. You don’t have the same effect when you can’t see the person you’re talking with; it feels a lot colder. With video calling you can also pick up on the other party’s thoughts through body language.
