If you’re a business owner who is just starting out, you might not have the big advertising bucks to spend on attracting consumers and staying ahead of the competition.

7 Tips for Attracting Consumers to Your Small Business

But while TV and radio marketing can help grow your customer base, there are other steps you can take to attract a devoted following. Here are seven tips that will help you capture the attention of consumers.

Strengthen Relationships

Transforming a new small business into a success takes a lot of hard work. While certain productivity hacks can aid you in tackling jobs on your to-do list, you also need to be engaging to your customers.

You can strengthen relationships and form strong bonds by listening to your customers’ needs. You should also provide valuable content by way of newsletters, emails, and blogs. If there is a problem, deal with the issue in a timely and respectable manner.

Implement a Powerful Marketing Campaign

You might not have the monetary resources at the start to reach a wide audience. But you can still boost your business brand by using affordable marketing tools.

Brilliant marketing signs will leave a memorable and lasting impression when used on an overpass or on top of your building. The signs are also useful for conventions and trade shows when you’re looking to showcase your products or services.

If you need to unload inventory or advertise clearance sales, banners can outline the various promotions to your customers.

Use Video!

This post was turned into a video because people on mobile devices can more easily watch than read. And sometimes don’t we all just feel like kicking back and listening instead of reading?

Focus on a Targeted Audience

Once you understand your business and how it serves the public, you want to focus on that targeted audience.

Several key factors, such as age range, marital status and how your audience members live, allow you to create a mental image of your consumers. When creating your marketing message, you should design the content specifically for them.

Reach Your Niche Customer

Some advertising methods work better than other plans do. When you’ve developed your list of specific target audience members, you need to implement a plan for how to reach them.

The more you personalize your marketing plan to suit them, the easier it will be to assist the needs of your customers. Look for a minimum of four to eight key words where individuals can locate your service or product via the Internet.

Create a Solid Approach to Marketing

While signs and trade shows help attract customers, you need other solid marketing approaches. Since many people are tech-savvy today, a great website makes it easy for consumers to learn about your products or services.

If you’re a novice, you might want to enlist the help of a professional so your customers can navigate your site without issues. Other content, such as blogs and mailings, can keep your name out there.

Offer Incentives and Bonuses

While capturing the attention of new customers can be challenging, getting your following to show loyalty can be even more difficult.

That’s why it’s important to create an avenue where you offer bonuses and incentives for those who return faithfully.

You can also offer a referral system for clients who notify friends, family members, and co-workers about your company. Since everyone adores some type of acknowledgment, you can also host a day where you show your appreciation for your customers.

Connect Through Social Media

Social media sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube, are excellent avenues for alerting customers to your business.

You can also stay connected by keeping them alert to special promotions and sales. Encourage customers to ask questions or add comments.

To keep the lines of communication flowing, have an employee monitor your social media accounts on a regular basis. Doing so shows customers that you’re attentive and on top of things.

Attracting Consumers Requires Persistence

It’s typically easy to get a customer to use your business once. But if you’re looking for a repeat following, you need to take a more proactive approach to your marketing.

Through the above seven strategies, you’ll be able to help forge a strong bond and keep your customer base coming back for repeat business.

Great article about marketing your business. It is so vital to all companies to have a marketing plan, especially small businesses that have little budgets. I wrote a piece earlier this month about some low promotional ideas for companies that I think would be a great complement to your already fantastic post.

    Hey Dana,
This is great advice for attracting consumers to your small business. I specifically offer bonuses if someone buys through my affiliate link and it’s a great way to get people to purchase through my affiliate link over someone elses affiliate link. I also build relationships with other bloggers in my niche and that too helps attract consumers to my business. I just recently learned the best ways to engage with other bloggers and I can’t believe I didn’t start sooner.

What issues you had with contacting your audience? They were not eager to respond or you couldn’t reach them?

If you want to have more personal approach, you should contact them on social media. Still, do it in a professional way, and let them know that you care about. Explain why your are contacting them.
