How Free Content Can Change Publishing

June 20, 2012 · 45 comments

RepostUs LogoOnline publishers have long been constrained by search engines punishing them for duplicate content, meaning that they could not resyndicate an article written by somebody else like a newspaper can. Instead, the articles had to be respun.

But not anymore! Now publishers can embed other people’s articles using RepostUs the same way they would embed a YouTube video. (Well, almost. RepostUs uses JavaScript instead of iframes).

Most bloggers refer to this as reblogging – republishing content on more than one site.

In this Future of Publishing episode, Murray Newlands examines Repost.Us and the implications it could have for the publishing industry:

Hi,
I do not think that free content can help your blog because that kind of free content can be published any where and it can create problems.
thanks

As per my understanding Free content is not so useful because it can cause copyright issue as well as it won’t attract your readers. Moreover each and every blogger has it’s own style of writing and regular readers are very fond of it so it’s like losing your regular visitors.
BTW thanks for the post!
