Hello dear friends, I’m Manuel Marino and you should know me from my previous guest post here on Social Networking, LinkedIn, Blogging and Music article.
Thanks to Gail, I’m writing this article which wants to explain my goals for this new Forum and how it can be of help for any singer, musician and artist who wants to achieve an Online Presence on the net.
First, Register your Website/Forum account (registration page is the same).
Then discuss with us about obtaining an Online Presence with your music portfolio, your music page, blog, bulletin board, on Facebook or on your preferred Social Network.
We can help each other with tips and trick, sharing
our online experiences, and also explaining HTML
code to make your page better and faster.
About the Music Forum
We have reorganized it in this way: on top you’ll find the forum categories we want to push at the moment, mainly articles from the blog, marketing and game design (since one of our Moderators is a game guru).
The group just next to these is all about music, with many styles, software, singing and songwriting categories and much more.
The name of the Forum is Artists helping Artists because my idea is that we can only reach success helping each other. It’s synergy – the key to success – and this is true for professionals and hobbyists as well.
I await you in our forum; we have a lot to learn, but also a lot to teach.

well,
I would say that forums are great source of traffic, you can get a lot of traffic from forums but to manage forums is quite difficult. You need to be there to answer every one. you have to do make some posts which sticks there.
Thanks

That is a really good way to promote a forum.
Forums are always a great way to gather information and also express your opinions and have discussions but with open minds. These days everyone is an musician or an artist. Some of them are really talented and others just want to be famous. I do think by having a forum and using social media to get noticed and have other appreciate your talents is definitely the way to go.

The music business is in a chaotic state. If you are curious, read this article from my weblog http://manuelmarino.com/music-biz/ . There are 56 comments, yes, it’s a very popular topic, anyway.
We all feel something’s wrong, but nobody is brave enough to speak about it. Maybe it’s time to tell what you really think and this post is the opportunity to do it.

I’m beginning to wonder if the net is “overcooked” with so many people making mp3s, cds, videos, etc., that it has become “all too much” – like an unweeded garden, the sheer abundance of fourth-class material is choking out the “good” – blogs included – oh yeah, facebook too, which may be why people are reacting violently when facebook pushes a change of any kind – they are on the verge of becoming another myspace.
Wow. What a rant that was! Thanks for letting me vent!

Hi Dave,
The solution is COLLABORATION among the top quality independent small businesses and bloggers. By promoting each other they can rise above all the “fourth-class material”.
The primary purpose of Facebook is to suck up everyone’s time so that they can’t do anything productive and won’t notice what a mess this world is in. By claiming they want to benefit us and small business – but then continually breaking what we do – which means businesses have to keep paying in either time or money to replace what they just broke – they can make sure they never get enough traction to grow.
People do not want change because it kills productivity and creates stress. Just as you learn how to do something it changes. And Facebook is the worst – you need to hire a Facebook expert to give you a tour to even begin to understand where anything is and how things work there – but then as soon as you do they change!
Quality Web design = CONSISTENCY in usability – and Facebook is the poster child for INconsistency.

Thanks so much! I’ve made another update. I’ve put the General Chat in front of the Forum, it has 578 posts and of course it’s where guests should easily go, since you can talk about anything.
Also, it’s for “Open Minds”, because I like people to say what they think and accept any point of view.
Next, the Arts and Music categories.
About the “Online Presence” discussione, one of the guests said something very interesting:
-Typical approach is “I’m an artist not a marketer” . This is how majority of conversation with artists from our studio ends up-
This is a good point, musicians need help to build their marketing and practical muscles. It’s a very competitive world, creativity is not enough, unfortunately.

Sounds like a great way for musicians to get online exposure! There are so many good musicians out there that never get noticed. Instead we’re stuck with boy bands, Britney Spears, etc. yuck… I will suggest your forum to some musicians I know..

That is such a good idea to give the musicians their share of exposure in the online. Music is an eternal gift to the people and it should be nurtured even in this tech savvy era. After all, music clears our senses no matter what we are going through. Wish you all the success in your forum, I will surely check out “Artists helping Artists”.
