This is a guest post from Ileane of Basic Blog Tips. My readers probably already know Ileane from her many Blogging Tutorials, her Blogging Tips Videos on YouTube and her many guest posts and interviews across the blogosphere.
Developing a successful social media strategy doesn’t happen overnight. Even with the never-ending supply of Twitter apps we can choose from to automate and manage our followings, at some point in time we still need to show up! On the other hand, many of us have decided to outsource our social strategy into the hands of someone who we can only hope is qualified for the task.
But first we must establish realistic goals and come to a mutual understanding with our new found freelancer. Perhaps we want to to drive more traffic to our site, find more qualified leads, or simply increase brand awareness.
Some social media goals are more difficult to measure than others. However here’s a handy website that we can use to easily monitor engagement and the growth of our social network.
How to Monitor Twitter Success with TweetBoard.me
Tweetboard.me is a website that allows you to check basic statistics for any Twitter user. I recommend this site because it gives an overview with in-your-face statistics, which can be easily understood by anyone, no matter what level of social media expertise they have.
It combines raw statistics, such as the number of followers, following and tweets, with familiar metrics and graphical charts that everyone in business is accustomed to using.
STATS PROVIDED by Tweetboard:
- Twitter profile

- Number of followers/following
- Total number of Tweets
- Klout Score (hopefully the score is not in “The Red Zone”)
- Twitter Rank across all of Twitter
- Twitter stream
- Twitter Mentions
- Friends wall
- Follower Growth chart
I suggest that you take a screenshot at the beginning of your
social media campaign and then check it every 10 – 14 days
(or at least once per month) to make sure things are
moving in the right direction.
Don’t be alarmed if you find your numbers hit a plateau, but if things start going in the negative direction you won’t be in the dark for long. This will give you plenty of time to make the necessary changes to your strategy before things get out of hand.
Let me take you on a 3 minute tour in – Introduction to TweetBoard.me for viewing Twitter Stats:
TweetBoard.me pulls valuable information about your Twitter account from several sources and displays them all in one dashboard that anyone can access without a password or complicated navigation menus.
TweetBoard: Just right for someone who
knows the importance of Twitter,
but doesn’t have time to Tweet.
NOTE from Gail at GrowMap: Ileane is one of the DoFollow CommentLuv bloggers I regularly recommend who is as big an advocate for CommentLuv as I am so I do hope you’re following @Ileane and @BasicBlogTips on Twitter and reading her Basic Blog Tips blog.
Even I can not keep up with all her guest posts! And I don’t know how she has time to learn, review and do so many video reviews of new products and solutions.
