Advice to Writers and Businesses Who Hire Them
People get paid what they feel they are worth. There are writers getting $450 and $600+ for 1000-1200 word posts, so the prices above are reasonable and enough to make a living on.
The fact that some people will write for $50 or $30 does not make it a good idea nor does it mean that good writers should accept such ridiculous amounts. If you’re just getting started and are a better than average writer, charge at least $75 for 500-700 words.
If clients complain about your rates, just tell them they get what they pay for and if they want mediocre writing there are plenty of sources for that. Writers should not want want to put their names on work that reflects poorly on them. No business should want bad content to tarnish their reputation.
