Every April 22nd, public officials give speeches praising the environment and environmental groups raise awareness for environmental stewardship. I know of Earth Day. I think it is fantastic that the awareness of the environment can be raised high during one day. I just wish the corporations would actually took notice and change. But that is not going to happen.
I have found on many high occasions like these, twitter being the most used. It is amazing. Twitter can have instant conversions, and that is why I think it takes the lead in these kinds of occasions.

This just shows how Twitter is becoming the most prominent social media outlet. It is showing remarkable growth and I think the ratios shown in the chart above can apply to most topical issues and events and not just Earth Day. And also, we should celebrate Earth Day because this is the day of out earth that we will protect and save our earth because this is our home.

Twitter buzz, for the most part, is nothing but empty chatter (just how many times a day Bieber or Gomez are trending), so the fact that nearly 48% of Earth day buzz comes from Twitter is actually disappointing, just as the fact that only 8 and 11% of all buzz originate from news and blogging, where, most meaningful discussions would take place.
We should work hand in hand to make our world a better world because this is our home that gives us life. We should protect this and care for this.
