I’m just starting to reach out to get affiliates and endorsements and the people I’m first contacting are those who I’ve met and have at least some sort of an established relationship with. It’s definitely helping me to faster solidify these deals which are ultimately turning into faster profits for both of us. In the increasingly important day and age of Social Media relationships; there’s something to be said about a real, honest-to-goodness personal relationship.

The fact that long lasting business relationships are crucial for success is nothing new, however, people often separate things like blogging from the real world and neglect to nurture relationships with other bloggers, focusing primarily on the relationships with their reads. Bloggers can help each other in ways that will benefit all parties and provide good value for the readers.

It is true, just like in the real world creating relationship with other people (bloggers) can be a great advantage for you. Being connected with the people in your niche allows you to get update about the trends in your industry or niche.

In it’s simplest form, blogging is like writing—find something people will read; and write it. But,…authors work endlessly at publicizing their books. They go on tours, contact key people, and spend hours signing books.

Bloggers also have to maintain relationships with key people. It is ironic that competitors can help each other!

It’s all too easy to forget that relationships play a key part in the success of any business. Blogging too often tends to be an insular process where we spend lots of time “in our own little world”. Reaching out to others is an important way of promoting your own blog, as Darren indirectly points out.
